Blogger and member of the Justice for David group Borislav Radovanović arrested

PRIJEDOR, (Patria) - Blogger Borislav Radovanović was arrested this morning at the Prijedor Police Administration for obstructing state authorities in performing their regular duties, the police announced. 

- Police officers of the Prijedor Police Administration today at around 07:30 hours, in the official premises of this Administration, deprived B.R. (born 1970) from Prijedor of his liberty, due to the committed misdemeanor of "Obstructing state authorities, companies and other legal entities in performing public functions." 

In accordance with Article 170 of the Law on Misdemeanors of the Republika Srpska, B.R. (born 1970) from Prijedor will be brought, along with a request for initiating misdemeanor proceedings, to the Basic Court in Prijedor. The decision on initiating and conducting urgent misdemeanor proceedings will be made by the duty judge of the said court - the statement from the Prijedor Police Administration says.

Although he was removed from work in May last year due to, as stated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, damaging the reputation of the ministry, Radovanović appeared at work this morning at the Prijedor Police Station. Local media report that colleagues tried to persuade Radovanović to leave the police building, but he refused, after which he was arrested and taken into custody. 

Proceedings are underway against him for the attempted murder of the head of the Prijedor Police Administration, Dalibor Ivanić, for which a measure prohibiting him from approaching Ivanić was imposed.

Radovanović has recently become known to the public for his activities in the Justice for David group, and he was also a member of the Inquiry Committee of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska that dealt with the murder case of David Dragičević.

In addition, Radovanović runs and edits his own blog where he often publishes harsh texts against the authorities in the Republika Srpska.
