Mirko Stojčinović, former Deputy Prosecutor of Republika Srpska, was arrested on suspicion of abuse of office.
Stojčinović, currently the Assistant Director for Supervisory Affairs in the Republican Administration for Geodetic and Property-Legal Affairs, was arrested by members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska (MUP RS), BIRN reported, citing NAP.
According to the MUP RS, inspectors from the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime arrested him in Banja Luka on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of abuse of official position or authority, causing damage to the city of Banja Luka in the amount of several million.
The investigation against Stojčinović is being conducted by the Republican Public Prosecutor's Office.
He is suspected of having, as the Deputy Prosecutor of Republika Srpska, based in Banja Luka, repeatedly failed to file lawsuits or inform the city about the outcome of certain court cases, thereby enabling other persons to gain unlawful property benefits, i.e., to register city property as their own.
