Former Prince Andrew arrested for abuse of office, was close to Epstein

(Patria) - The first photo of the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the biological brother of King Charles, who was arrested on his 66th birthday, has appeared in public.

The former Duke of York is suspected of abuse of office, and in recent years has been under strong public pressure due to multiple connections with the deceased billionaire and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has repeatedly denied committing any criminal offense. After the publication of Epstein's documents, he renounced all royal titles, while his brother removed him from the Royal Lodge residence and moved him to a part of the estate in Norfolk.

This morning, on his birthday, plainclothes police officers arrived at that estate. Shortly thereafter, it was confirmed that the former prince had been deprived of his liberty.

In an official statement, the police did not reveal the identity of the person "who was detained in Norfolk", stating only that it was a man about 60 years old.

However, the published photos show Prince Andrew, visibly pale, being taken away in a civilian jeep. At this moment, it is not known whether it is a private vehicle or an official police car.
