SARAJEVO, (Patria) - One of the leading American and world magazines, Newsweek, has published that Jason Osborne and Mike Rubino have been hired as lobbyists for Dodik's SNSD.
Newsweek refers to US Government documents in its article. These are former associates in Donald Trump's campaign.
The magazine describes SNSD as a political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina that favors separatism and cooperates with Russia.
Newsweek journalist Cristina Maza writes that Osborne and Rubino are close friends and business associates of former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, and that they are now engaged to help the party of Milorad Dodik, the president of Republika Srpska.
In the article, she reminds that the US Treasury Department sanctioned Dodik last year for holding a referendum on the celebration of the Day of Republika Srpska.
Official Washington believes that the referendum hinders efforts to implement the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement, the agreement that ended the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, because it discriminates against non-Serbs.
- Dodik called Bosnia a "failed state" and claimed that Republika Srpska would be better off if it separated from the rest of the country, according to analysts who claim that this would provoke new conflicts, while ethnic groups could start establishing national borders.
Documents and investigations have recently revealed that local police in Republika Srpska are receiving military-style training from Russia and collecting military equipment, which would be used to promote separatism – Maza states in the article.
Newsweek also states that Osborne told the magazine "Mother Jones" that SNSD had verbally agreed to pay $10,000 per month to the lobbying firm Twin Rocks Global, which he and Rubino founded last month.
In the same article, Osborne confirmed that he personally helped arrange meetings for the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, during her visit to Washington last month, stating that among other things, it included a meeting with the well-known pro-Russian Republican congressman Dana Rohrabacher from California.
We remind you that this is not the first time that leading world media have written about Milorad Dodik establishing lobbying ties with pro-Russian individuals in the US. Before Newsweek, Time, Washington Post, The Guardian, El Pais wrote about this...
