Fire extinguished at the Central Prison, fire did not surprise the management, as nothing has been done for years!

(Patria) - The building of the Correctional Facility Sarajevo, located within the Cantonal Court, caught fire today. The danger has been eliminated, and there are no injuries in the fire. The Fire Department of Sarajevo Canton acted quickly, as did 45 officials from the Correctional Facility Sarajevo, who arrived at the facility in record time and helped to localize the fire, as well as to organize the entire situation so that no prisoners were injured.

As we reported earlier, the convicted persons were not evacuated, but they are safe inside the central prison building, nor was any of the detainees staying on the top floor which also caught fire.

Faruk Zubčević, the director of the prison, stated that he was not surprised by the fire in the central prison building, given that he has been warning about the poor condition of the building for years.

"We are also moving out because no one wanted to do anything, everything was done in parts. The fire is a product of all of that," said Zubčević.

We remind you that the prisoners are currently being moved from this facility to Igman, where a new facility has been built.
