Fire threatening forest towards Rujišta extinguished

The fire spreading towards Rujišta near Mostar has been extinguished, confirmed by the Civil Protection of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.

The fire that broke out three days ago threatened to spread to high forest, which could have caused catastrophic consequences, but the fire was extinguished thanks to the help of a helicopter of the Armed Forces of BiH, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The Federal Operational Centre of the Civil Protection previously explained that the terrain, which is inaccessible, as well as the wind that further exacerbates the situation, pose a problem for firefighters.

A helicopter of the Armed Forces of BiH helped extinguish the fire yesterday, and its repeated take-off was requested today.

The fire at this location was active for three days, writes NAP.
