SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide has sent an open letter to High Representative Christian Schmidt, calling on him to finally take a clear stance on the verdicts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), ban public gatherings, and the glorification of convicted war criminals.

The Association reminds Schmidt that, with the support and consent of the Association of Citizens Victims of War 92-95 "16th April" from Ahmići, they have already sent several requests for him to dismiss the President of the Federation of BiH Lidija Bradara and the Federal Minister for Sport and Culture Sanja Vlaisavljević.

"Unfortunately, with your brief statement, you announced the continuation of the glorification of war crimes.

Today, we witness convicted war criminals giving lectures, highlighting their role as peacemakers, belittling victims, not accepting ICTY verdicts, and presenting themselves as victims of a conspiracy.

We call on you to finally take a clear stance on the ICTY verdicts, ban public gatherings and the glorification of convicted war criminals," the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide, signed by President Murat Tahirović, stated in their letter to the High Representative.
