(Patria) - In traffic accidents in Republika Srpska over 11 months this year, 118 people lost their lives, as many as 30 more than last year.
Citing data from the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nezavisne novine writes that 88 people died in the same period last year.
The RS Agency for Traffic Safety points out that the primary cause of accidents is speed, followed by driving under the influence of alcohol and mobile phone use.
They believe that a new law on the fundamentals of road traffic safety in BiH needs to be urgently adopted because existing penalties cannot deter drivers from committing violations.
