Murder in Zagreb: 37-year-old man strangled a woman with his bare hands

Zagreb police have suspected a 37-year-old man of murdering a woman a year older than him, to whom he inflicted multiple injuries in her apartment two days ago with the intention of killing her with his 'bare hands', to which she succumbed at the scene, reports the Patria news agency.

The quarrel between the suspect and his 38-year-old victim broke out in an apartment on Samoborska Street on Sunday morning between 6:30 and 9:00 a.m., and continued with a conflict in which the man killed the woman, the police reported.

After the completed criminal investigation, the police handed over the suspect to the police detention unit and filed a criminal complaint with the competent County State Attorney's Office.

The body of the dead woman was found on Sunday afternoon. Due to the injuries on the woman's body, the police initially treated the case as a suspicious death linked to the arrested man, but in the meantime, the investigation determined that it was a murder.
