Serbian media report that shortly after 10 a.m. a man was killed in Belgrade's Vračar municipality, and that it is Vladimir Bjelović (37), who is said to be a criminal with a criminal record, convicted of multiple robberies and thefts.
Bjelović's body was found this morning on the sidewalk, and according to media reports, he was killed by gunshots, one of which hit him in the head. The Serbian Ministry of Interior said that death was confirmed at the scene.
A man with a balaclava shot at Bjelović after he parked his car and started walking down the sidewalk with a female companion.
The attacker got out of a black Fiat Bravo with Belgrade license plates and fired about ten bullets at the victim. The woman who arrived with the murdered Bjelović was taken to the hospital, but her condition is unknown.
