Murder of Sarajevo Police Officers: Extension of Custody Requested for Miloš Obradov

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The acting prosecutors of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton have proposed to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo an extension of custody for another three months for the suspect Miloš Obradov, who is linked to the murder of Sarajevo police officers, confirmed Azra Bavčić, spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.

"The extension was proposed due to the risk that the suspect, if released, could influence witnesses, conceal evidence, as well as the risk of repeating the criminal offense and the risk that the suspect's release could cause public disturbance," said Bavčić.

Obradov was arrested at the end of November last year in Pale and has been in custody since then.

Sarajevo police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović were killed on October 26, 2018, in Alipašino Polje when a burst of automatic rifle fire was fired at their patrol vehicle. The officers arrived at the moment when a group of car thieves were attempting to steal a Volkswagen Golf VI with Croatian license plates. Since then, an investigation has been ongoing that has not resulted in an indictment.

Srećko Trifković, who is suspected of murdering two police officers, is also in custody.
