MURDER NEAR BRČKO Man found dead in Gornji Zovik was murdered, pre-trial detention will be requested for the suspect

(Patria) - After the body of a man from the nearby village of Boće was found near Brčko yesterday, it was determined that he was murdered. The suspect for the murder has been arrested and questioned.

As a reminder, the man's body was found near the mountain lodge "Sveti Bernard" in Gornji Zovik near Brčko.

The Prosecutor's Office of Brčko District issued a statement again today.

"The Prosecutor's Office of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the District Police, continued intensive investigative activities in this case today.

An autopsy of the deceased L.Č. was performed at the City Morgue in Brčko, and searches of his family home, as well as the home of M.A., who is linked to the victim's violent death, were also conducted.

Following these actions and the escort of M.A. to the premises of the District Prosecutor's Office, the duty prosecutor questioned this person as a suspect, charging him with the crime of murder.

In this regard, after the questioning at the Prosecutor's Office, he was further detained, and while his 24-hour detention is ongoing, the Prosecutor's Office will file a motion with the Basic Court today to order his pre-trial detention," said the Secretary of the Prosecutor's Office, Samir Beganović.

During the searches of the two houses, items and traces that could serve as evidence in making a court decision on pre-trial detention, as well as in the further course of the criminal proceedings, were seized. Investigative activities in this case are continuing intensively," the statement added.
