Killed his wife: Anel Bećirović to spend a month in custody

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo has ordered a one-month detention for Anel Bećirović for the murder of Emira Maslan, the accused's lawyer Omar Mehmedbašić confirmed to the media.

"Bećirović handed over the pistol and admitted guilt, the only question is how many years in prison he will get," Mehmedbašić stated.

Bećirović killed his former partner in front of their four-year-old child, after which he fled to an apartment in Hrasno, where he barricaded himself with their son.

In April, Bećirović was sentenced to three months in prison for domestic violence, precisely against Emir Maslan. At that time, he was also issued restraining orders against her.

Furthermore, a court process is underway against him for drug possession.
