100 PEOPLE KILLED: Indictment against nine individuals for war crimes near Nevesinje

(Patria) - The Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes has filed an indictment against a total of 9 indictees, who are charged with war crimes committed in the village of Zijemlje, between Nevesinje and Mostar, in the summer of 1992, it was announced by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The indictees are former commanders and members of the VRS, and they are charged with crimes against victims of Bosniak nationality from the Nevesinje area, namely the murder of about 100 victims, including dozens of women, elderly persons, and children aged 15 days to two years.

"Almost entire families of Ploskić, Šipković, Aličić, Alibašić, Mahinić, Brajević, Čopelj, and other victims were killed in the committed crime. The remains of 49 persons have been found, while the remains of 47 victims are still being searched for," stated the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

The prosecution will prove the allegations of the indictment by calling 88 witnesses, of whom 8 will testify with assigned protection measures, one expert witness, and by submitting 116 material pieces of evidence.

The indictees are: Zdravko Kandić, born in 1957 in Mostar, Dragan Đurđić, born in 1967 in Doboj, Dragan Paki Ivanišević, born in 1963 in Nevesinje, Goran Došlo, born in 1967 in Mostar, Milan Trifković, born in 1967 in Mostar, Siniša Kandić, born in 1970 in Mostar, Daragoslav Gaga Aćimović, born in 1970 in Mostar, Mladen Faca Kandić, born in 1962 in Mostar, Damir Antelj, born in 1967 in Mostar.
