A security guard at one of the nuclear power plants in the Belgian city of Charleroi, which terrorists planned to attack, was killed two days after the Brussels attacks, local newspaper Derniere Heure reports, citing police sources.
Media outlets write that the security guard's access pass, which allows him entry into the nuclear plant, was stolen after his murder.
The security guard was killed on Thursday evening while walking his dog. Since his pass was stolen, police immediately launched an investigation fearing a new attack could occur.
Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that Brussels suicide bombers Khalid and Ibrahim El Bakraoui had planned an attack on this Belgian nuclear plant, but that the arrest of Abdeslam disrupted their plans, so they carried out attacks earlier and at other locations.
