(Patria) - Prime Minister of Iraq Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced today that the leader of "Islamic State" in Iraq was killed during a military operation along with eight other high-ranking leaders of the terrorist group.
Al-Sudani said that Jassim al-Mazroui Abu Abdul Qader was killed in the Hamrin Mountains in Salahuddin province, in an operation by counter-terrorism and national security forces.
- There is no place for terrorists in Iraq, we will pursue them to their hideouts and eliminate them - al-Sudani stated in a statement.
The command of the Iraqi forces announced that the operation was carried out "with technical support and exchange of precise intelligence information by the forces of the international coalition".
The identities of others killed in the operation will be announced after confirmation by DNA tests, the statement said, adding that a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and equipment was seized.
