(Patria) - Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Sky News reports.
The Israeli army (IDF) previously announced that it was verifying information that Sinwar was killed through DNA tests.
Katz is the first Israeli official to confirm Sinwar's death. In a message to dozens of foreign ministers around the world, Katz confirmed that the Hamas leader had been killed.
- The mass murderer Yahya Sinwar, responsible for the massacre and crimes since October 7, was killed today by IDF soldiers.
This is a great military and moral achievement for Israel and a victory for the entire free world against the evil axis of radical Islam led by Iran - Katz said.
He adds that this killing "opens the possibility" for the immediate release of hostages and the creation of a Gaza without Hamas and Iranian control.
