Three people arrested in Zvornik, BiH and RS institution seals seized

(Patria) - Three people were arrested in Zvornik in an operation codenamed "Verona".

The arrested individuals are suspected of committing several criminal offenses, including abuses related to the issuance of personal documents for criminal individuals on wanted lists.

The operation is being carried out by the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, in cooperation with the Zvornik Police Administration (PU), and under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

Furthermore, the arrested individuals are suspected of committing the criminal offenses of organized crime, illicit trafficking, document forgery, computer fraud, forgery or destruction of an official document, as prescribed by the Criminal Code of BiH and the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska.

"By order of the Court of BiH, searches were carried out at five locations, during which items that could be linked to the commission of criminal offenses were seized, as well as multiple seals of BiH and Republika Srpska institutions, high schools, private companies, forms, certificates, and confirmations, mobile phones, and other items," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska announced.

The three suspects are accused of having, in the previous period in the Zvornik area, contacted a larger number of criminal individuals, members of organized criminal groups from several European countries (Serbia, North Macedonia, etc.) who were wanted for the most serious forms of criminal offenses (homicide, illicit production and trafficking of narcotic drugs, etc.), and organized and mediated the issuance of BiH identity cards and travel documents based on forged foreign documents.

The aforementioned operational action has been conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH since February 2024.
