Prijedor doctors participated in crimes in '92: They took blood from Bosniaks and gave it to wounded Serbs

During the ethnic cleansing of Bosniaks in 1992 in Prijedor, doctors from the Prijedor hospital equally participated in crimes against humanity, along with the army and police of Republika Srpska, claim sources of the BH News Agency Patria (NAP), who survived the crimes in this city, which are considered the greatest on the territory of BiH from 1992 to 1995 after the genocide that occurred in Srebrenica in July 1995.

One of the former inmates of the Omarska camp testified in an interview with Patria that medical staff of the Prijedor hospital forcibly took blood from Bosniak prisoners during 1992, which they then gave to wounded Serb soldiers.

- They took blood from my underage cousin as well, who had a series of complications afterwards – said this source.

- He had blood type O, which is compatible with patients with other blood types. When they realized that, they forcibly took blood from him at the hospital in Prijedor, even though he was only 17 years old – he added.

The president of the self-proclaimed Assembly of the Serb People of the Prijedor Municipality in 1992 was a doctor, Miomir Stakić, who was sentenced to 40 years in prison by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

However, for the crimes of Prijedor doctors, apart from Stakić, no one has been held accountable to date, nor has any prosecutor's office dealt with the crimes committed by employees of the most humane institution in the city.

During the last aggression on BiH, more than 5,000 people were killed in Prijedor, of which more than 4,000 were Bosniaks. Tens of thousands of people passed through the Keraterm, Omarska, and Trnopolje camps, the bones of many of them have not yet been found, writes Patria.
