200 kg of cocaine stolen in Zagreb: Police investigate and arrest, the aggrieved drug clan seeks and beats the culprits

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A shipment of around 200 kilograms of cocaine was stolen this spring in the Zagreb area from one of the Balkan drug clans particularly known for brutal liquidations, writes today's Zagreb daily Jutarnji list.

The cocaine, they say, was in a warehouse in the wider area of the Croatian capital, and the drug was in secret transit, i.e., it entered Croatia hidden from the east and was intended for the market of Western European countries.

The theft of high-value cocaine, as Jutarnji unofficially learns, resulted in a very quick and aggressive reaction from the drug clan, which sent its people to Croatia to determine who stole the drug, to try to get it back, and to "punish" the culprits.

This "investigation" by the drug cartel has allegedly already resulted in several criminal acts committed in Croatia. It is reported that one kidnapping and beating of a person they considered responsible for the disappearance of the drug occurred, as well as an attempted kidnapping of that person's associate, and a violent attempt to recover part of the stolen drug.

The newspaper writes that despite attempts, it was unable to learn from the police whether they are aware of this information about the drug theft.

However, Jutarnji writes, from a series of operations that certain elite criminal police departments have been conducting over the past six months, it seems that the police are very much aware of what is happening.

Namely, in one of the police operations that have been taking place across Croatia over the past six months against international cocaine traffickers, a person suspected by the drug clan of stealing the drug was detected, among others.

What is even more important, they state, this cocaine theft provides a possible new context for a whole series of arrests of "dangerous guys" from the Balkan underworld who, over the past six months, began to "flow" into Croatia under false identities, and whom the police would then arrest, in seemingly unrelated operations, for drugs and weapons.

The newspaper writes that there is suspicion that some of these individuals were sent to Croatia "on assignment" by the drug clan, precisely to take revenge for the disappearance of the drug or, alternatively, to try to find it and return it to the owner.
