Prosecutor's Office of BiH opens case regarding obstruction of investigation in Bobar and Pavlović Bank cases

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH issued a public statement stating that it will not succumb to any pressure in making prosecutorial decisions, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- We most strongly condemn attempts to obstruct investigations in certain cases and political abuse of functions by individuals for the purpose of election campaigns.

In response to the dissemination of lies and falsehoods by the Minister of Security of BiH, which aim to undermine the investigation, as well as allegations on the portal “Žurnal“, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has opened a case regarding the obstruction of investigations in the cases of “Bobar banka“ and “Pavlović banka".

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH will not succumb to such pressures for the purpose of election campaigns, which aim to obstruct investigations and prevent prosecutorial decisions.

The actions of individuals for the purpose of election campaigns attempt to damage and disrupt relations between judicial institutions and law enforcement agencies, thereby harming the rule of law and all citizens of BiH, which we will absolutely not allow.

The claims about the Chief Prosecutor's announcements of arrests of individuals, as stated in the magazine “Žurnal“, are absolutely untrue.

The Chief Prosecutor has already stated in his media appearances that there is an investigation within the scope of the Pavlović banka case, which also includes Milorad Dodik. Everything else, such as alleged transcripts, conversations, and the like, are untruths, speculations, and lies from third parties.

Due to the dissemination of notorious lies and falsehoods, and the alarming and misleading of the public in the on-line magazine “Žurnal“, proceedings for protection against defamation will be initiated.

Regardless of all pressures, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH continues its fight against organized crime and corruption, in which we will not succumb to any pressure and in which there will be no untouchables.
