At least 22 people were killed in an attack with three car bombs in a Kurdish-controlled city in northeastern Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced on Friday, reports the news agency Patria.
They said the death toll in Tel Tamer on Thursday was likely to rise further. The city in the northeastern province of Hasaka is controlled by the Kurdish YPG militia, which, with the support of US-led airstrikes, is fighting against Islamic State militants.
The Observatory said one bomb exploded next to a health center and another next to a market. It states there is "confirmed information" about losses among the Kurdish security forces.
The YPG is the most effective ground partner for the US-led coalition carrying out airstrikes in Syria, writes Index.
