(Patria) - The Management Board of the Independent Union of Civil Servants of Sarajevo Canton sent congratulations on the occasion of May 1st, International Labour Day.
The union will, this year as in all previous years, work on preserving acquired rights and improving them through the Collective Agreement and other legal and sub-legal solutions.
The President of the Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees of Sarajevo Canton, Elvis Zornić, warned that unions will not allow wage cuts for civil servants and employees advocated by the Employers' Association and certain political figures, nor the violation of workers' rights which are being violated in this time of crisis. He stated that a large number of workers worked without adequate personal protective equipment, that workers sent home had their annual leave days forcibly taken, and that some of those who worked from home were not paid certain allowances for transportation and warm meals.
"Finally, my message on the occasion of May 1st, International Labour Day, to all colleagues is: join us in the fight for a better position and status that we all deserve in the civil service of Sarajevo Canton, because Together We Are Stronger!!!", Zornić said.
