
At least 26 people were injured in a collision between a passenger train and a locomotive in the Lipetsk region, central Russia, Russian Railways announced today, adding that one person was transferred to the hospital, reports the Patria News Agency.
The accident occurred early this morning at the Griyazi-Voronezhskoye station, in the Lipetsk region, while the locomotive was being detached from the train. The carriages suddenly started moving and hit the locomotive.
The train traveling from Volgograd continued its journey to Moscow with a delay of about two hours.
Police have launched an investigation, and a commission from Russian Railways has also become involved, TASS reported.
