Peaceful march on Saturday in support of the Palestinian people

A peaceful march from Sebilj to the BBI Center in Sarajevo this Saturday will be organized as a sign of expressing dissatisfaction against the injustice inflicted upon the Palestinian people, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

The associations "Palestinian Diaspora in BiH", "Svitanje" and "Palestinian Cultural Club", which are organizing the protest march, are calling on citizens to join them to show support for the Palestinians against whom Israel has been perpetrating injustice for decades.

Last month marked 66 years since the mass ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their land by Zionist forces began. That day, which is marked on May 15, is called the Day of Catastrophe (Nakba).
Even 66 years later, before the eyes of the world public, Israeli soldiers are killing Palestinian civilians and their children every day.

At the end of the 1940s, 800,000 Palestinians were expelled from the territory of Palestine out of a total of 1,400,000, and Jewish settlers from all over the world moved into their homes, properties, and business buildings.

Palestinians were driven out of their homes and expelled to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and a large number of them were expelled to Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria – to the Golan.

In 1918, Jews constituted only 8% of the total population in Palestine, and today, in the territory of historical Palestine, out of 11.8 million people living there, about six million are Jews, or about 51%. These 51% of Jews own as much as 85% of the land area.

On Monday, June 2, the new Palestinian government, composed of independent dignitaries and technocrats, supported by Hamas, was inaugurated in Ramallah on the West Bank.

Its formation was welcomed by the European Union, Russia, the United Nations, and the United States. However, it caused outrage in Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Tuesday that he was "deeply disturbed" by the US decision not to sever ties with the new Palestinian government, which has Hamas's support.
