Day of Mourning in Srebrenik for Tragic Death of Miner Asim Šehanović

Mayor of Srebrenik Adnan Bjelić declared Friday, May 10, as a Day of Mourning in the area of Srebrenik, on the occasion of the burial-funeral of the tragically killed miner from Srebrenik, Asim Šehanović from Rapatnica.

The Day of Mourning is marked by lowering the flag to half-mast at the Srebrenik City building, public companies, and institutions founded by the City.

On the Day of Mourning, cultural and entertainment programs cannot be held in public places in the area of the City of Srebrenik.

We remind you, the body of miner Asim Šehanović, who was buried in a pit 170 meters underground on May 2, was found in the Mramor mine on May 7 around 4 p.m., and the search for his body lasted five days and, unfortunately, ended tragically.

The room where the mining accident occurred is located at a depth of about 170 meters, and the space itself is cramped and inaccessible for work.

Asim Šehanović is survived by his wife and child.
