Klas rahat lokum production launched in Srebrenica

(Patria) - With the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon, Bosnian-Herzegovinian food industry Klas d.d. Sarajevo launched the production of rahat lokum in Srebrenica. A long-planned business move has finally been realized, and ten residents of Srebrenica have been employed.

- The Holding's strategic plan is for Klas, as well as other members within our structure, to foster business, identify opportunities, and expand their assortment. In this regard, opening a production facility for rahat lokum is an excellent opportunity for both new jobs and the production of a growing category for Klas. The project and products enrich Klas's production portfolio and continue to build a strong domestic market position. Given that these are specific products stemming from the tradition of local gastronomic culture, I have no doubt that this project will be one of Klas's most successful – stated Rusmir Hrvić, President of the Management Board of AS Holding.

The value of the project amounts to 176,000 KM, and the production facility covers approximately 300 square meters. Klas company emphasizes that this is one of the most significant business moves because it involves top-quality products that promote Bosnian-Herzegovinian tradition in a special way. Klas's management is particularly proud of the fact that this project will provide jobs for young people, specifically the demographic most likely to consider leaving BiH.

- As a socially responsible company, Klas, by opening this facility, offers young people the opportunity to stay and work in their country, thus enabling them a better livelihood and good working conditions. We are proud of the fact that we have 10 newly employed individuals who will contribute to Klas company with their knowledge, will, and effort, and work on the development of our brands, primarily rahat lokum. This project will contribute to reducing unemployment in the Municipality of Srebrenica. I believe that jobs are what is most needed at this moment, both for Srebrenica and for the entire BiH – emphasized Boris Brković, Director of Klas company.

Klas's Srebrenica branch will offer a recognizable range of products on the market, and the planned assortment is designed to be produced in various weights and packaging.

Funds for opening the facility were collected through cooperation with the Ministry for Displaced Persons and Migration Affairs.
