Over 14,000 refugees in Slovenia, Austria closed borders overnight

According to data from the Slovenian police, there are currently slightly more than 14,000 refugees and migrants in Slovenia, of which 5,960 have been registered, while the rest are in the planned registration procedure, reports the Patria news agency.

President Borut Pahor called on citizens to treat them humanely "because they are not enemies." This data is from 6 a.m., and the Slovenian police also listed on their portal the reception centers where migrants who have already undergone the procedure are accommodated.

Most of them are in heated tents in Šentilj, which will be visited today by Defense Minister Andrejka Katič, and then in Gornja Radgona, where nearly 1,200 are located.

The Slovenian government is urgently negotiating with Austria on opening another "entry point" for the passage of migrants into Austria, where camps are reportedly also full, according to Index.

From the Croatian-Serbian border to the Slovenian-Austrian border, thousands of refugees are waiting to enter another country. So far, over 222,000 refugees have entered Croatia, and this morning, as reported by HRT, about 1,500 are waiting at the border to enter the country.

Around 4,000 of them are waiting in Šentilj to cross into Austria, which closed its border overnight. It is expected that the Austrians will soon open the border, but they will immediately let only a thousand refugees through. The rest will have to wait.
