(Patria) - A reception was held today at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Sarajevo on the occasion of Republic Day, marking the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Republic, Anadolu reports.
Guests at the reception were welcomed by the Turkish Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sadik Babur Girgin, and the Embassy's Military Attaché, Murat Gul.
After the national anthems of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey were played, Ambassador Girgin greeted all those present, congratulating Turkish citizens on October 29, Republic Day.
Those present then had the opportunity to watch a video message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the occasion of the Turkish national holiday.

- We have a few obstacles left to overcome and a few problems to solve in order to achieve the bright future we call the 'Turkish Century.'
We are aware of the difficulties that attempts to undermine our country, both in the economy and in other areas, especially security threats, have caused in the lives of our people over the past six years.
We know that we must use all our resources to bury the scourge of terrorism, which has been exploiting our energy, eroding our brotherhood, and diverting us from our goals for 40 years - Erdogan said.
The reception was attended, among others, by the Chair of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, the Chair of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdić, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, the Vice President of the smaller BiH entity RS, Ćamil Duraković, the President of the SDA, Bakir Izetbegović, representatives of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community, numerous ambassadors, representatives of cantonal and other levels of government, representatives of Turkish institutions and organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, diplomats, and many other guests.
In the courtyard of the Embassy building, a photo exhibition was also set up showcasing the greatest achievements of the Republic of Turkey in various fields, from the automotive to the defense industry.
The national holiday Republic Day is celebrated in Turkey on October 29 in commemoration of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey in 1923.
The Republic was proclaimed by military leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, who was subsequently elected by the Grand National Assembly of that country as the first president of modern Turkey.
One of the largest national holidays is marked by a series of appropriate events across the country, including the laying of wreaths at Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Ataturk.
