38-year-old from Sokolac arrested in Sarajevo, police found drugs and weapons

(Patria) - Police officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, under the supervision of the Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, carried out an operational action in the area of Novi Grad municipality with the aim of documenting criminal offenses of unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs.

During the searches, the following were found and seized:

- three PVC packages with the content of dry herbaceous matter, which by its appearance resembles the narcotic drug marijuana, gross mass of about 369 grams;

- three PVC packages with the content of white matter, which by its appearance resembles the narcotic drug amphetamine, gross mass of about 655.30 grams;

- one pistol with an attached magazine, caliber 7.62 mm;

- metal body of a rifle with a mechanism and barrel;

- metal body of a rifle with a handle and a shortened stock;

- two metal joined barrels, so-called "double barrel", 30 cm long, with a rifle head with external strikers and a shortened stock;

- cash in euros and convertible marks; and

- other items of interest to the investigation.



V.H., born in 1986 in Sokolac, residing in Sarajevo, was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs (Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Illegal Possession of Weapons or Explosives (Article 371 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Possession of Weapons without the Approval of the Competent Authority under Article 74 of the Law on Unauthorized Possession, Holding, and Carrying of Weapons and Ammunition of Sarajevo Canton.

The arrested man was handed over to the Detention Facility for Detained Persons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, and police officers of the Department for Blood Crimes, Sexual Offenses, and War Crimes are continuing their work on this case.
