SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On the occasion of Sarajevo City Day, the 55th International Chess Festival will be held on Saturday, April 7, starting at 10 AM at the House of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the participation of more than 100 chess players from BiH and the region expected.
The organizer of the Festival is the Sarajevo Chess Club, founded in 1904, under the auspices of the City of Sarajevo. The Festival will be opened by the Mayor of the City of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka.
Cash prizes have also been provided for the winners, and the organizers emphasize that the Festival is registered with the World Chess Federation (FIDE) for scoring on the rapid world rankings.
All participants, except for grandmasters and international masters, are required to bring a standard-sized chess set and a functional chess clock.
The deadline for registration is April 7, by 9:30 AM.
