A delegation from Sarajevo Canton laid flowers today at the site of the massacre in Isevića sokak, near the Sarajevo Brewery. 23 years ago, eight Sarajevans, including two children, were killed at this spot by a grenade fired from aggressor positions while they were waiting in line for water. Another 19 of our fellow citizens were wounded by the explosive force of the grenade, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
From the site of the massacre, it was stated that this and numerous other massacres committed against innocent civilians of Sarajevo will not be forgotten.
- We must not forget these monstrous crimes, crimes that a normal person cannot comprehend, because forgetting is a sin and complicity in the crime - was one of the messages after laying flowers and paying tribute to the fallen fellow citizens.
On that fateful January 15, 1993, the following were killed: Ahmet Ahmetspahić, Jasmina Kajanija, Asim and Azra Lačević, Senad Lagumdžija, Bajro Pinjo, Aferdita Sadikaj, and Jasna Šarić.
Families and friends, as well as delegations from the City, KS, Stari Grad Municipality, the Association of Parents of Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995, and the Union of Civilian War Victims of KS, also laid flowers at the site of their suffering today.
