(Patria) - In the first six months of 2021, 429 calls/competitions for co-financing of entrepreneurs and the economy in BiH were published, which is 5.2 percent less than in the same period last year, according to data from the Briefing agency for monitoring and analyzing tenders.
Of the total number of calls for economy financing, 30 relate to business support caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
In the mentioned period, 99 grants were announced for various areas of business development. Support for women's entrepreneurship is mentioned in 27 calls. 26 calls for development loans were published, and 39 calls were issued for starting businesses and startup companies.
"In the first half of last year, 125 calls were published to support businesses due to the epidemiological situation caused by the COVID-19 virus pandemic. This year, that number is significantly lower. Generally, when we compare the period from 2018 to today, we have a constant decline in the number of calls for economy financing," stated Tarik Džaferović, director of the Briefing agency.
Calls for economy financing were mainly published by relevant ministries, cities, municipalities, development agencies, embassies, as well as domestic and foreign non-governmental organizations. The analysis by the Briefing agency covers the publication of public calls for financing/co-financing of entrepreneurs, allocation of funds for business development, credit funds, and grants in all official and daily newspapers, as well as on over 2,500 client websites.
