In the beautiful ambiance of the National Museum of BiH, the play 'Disgraced' and the concert 'When Sevdah Speaks'

(Patria) - In the beautiful ambiance of the National Museum of BiH, on Monday and Tuesday, August 7 and 8, starting at 8:00 PM, the drama play “Disgraced” by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Dino Mustafić, will be performed.

We hereby inform the esteemed public that due to great public interest, for both performance dates of the drama play at the National Museum of BiH, on Monday, August 7, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, it will be possible to pick up tickets in accordance with seating capacity.

The play stars: Ermin Bravo, Maja Izetbegović, Snežana Bogičević, Boris Ler, and Faris Pinjo / Lazar Dragojević.

The play “Disgraced”, produced by Kontakt, is based on the text by Ayad Akhtar, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2013.

Its themes address current socio-political issues such as Islamophobia and questions of racial, religious, and national identity.

The play deeply dissects the consequences of terrorist attacks around the world on relationships among colleagues, friends, or even spouses who come from different cultures in our seemingly liberal and multicultural society.

The play will be realized with the support of the partner “Culture on the Streets 2023!” of the National Museum of BiH.

ABOUT THE CONCERT WHEN SEVDAH SPEAKS

On Tuesday, August 8, at 7:00 PM, the concert “When Sevdah Speaks” will be held at the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, performed by Lejla Jusić, Elvir Solak, and Adnan Gor.

The program will include Bosnian sevdalinka songs: Ah što ćemo ljubav kriti, Kiša bi pala pasti ne može, Zapjevala bulbul ptica, Sejdefu majka buđaše, Evo srcu mom radosti, Otkako je Banjaluka postala, Snijeg pade na behar na voće, Hasanagin sevdah (Što te nema), (Hasret cektim, Adio kerida).

Lejla Jusić and Elvir Solak have a number of joint performances during their years-long collaboration. A special place is occupied by concerts within the recently held prestigious world festival LLANGOLLEN INTERNATIONAL MUSICAL EISTEDDFOD in Wales, United Kingdom, from July 4 to 9, preceded by a performance at the gathering of the British charity organization "Remembering Srebrenica" in the renowned Lancaster House in London. The concert WHITE FLOWER INTO THE LIGHT, which opened with an impressive performance of the composition "Bijeli cvijet", authored by Elvir Solak himself, a member of the Opera Choir of the National Theatre Sarajevo, attracted great interest during the festival.

The concert will be realized with the support of the partner “Culture on the Streets 2023!” of the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Admission to the concert is free.
