No serious injuries in fire at Zenica nursing home, several people sought help due to smoke

(Patria) - There were no injuries in last night's fire at the Home for the Elderly and Infirm, and all residents were evacuated. 

Residents have been safely relocated to alternative facilities until their institution is ready to receive them again.

The Operational Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton stated that there were no seriously injured persons or life-threatening conditions in the fire.

“There are no individuals who sustained injuries from the flames, but there are those who received assistance due to smoke inhalation and have been hospitalized, and they are not in life-threatening condition,” said the operative of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs, adding that 75 people were evacuated from the facility.

The fire broke out in one of the residents' rooms, and the exact cause will be determined by an investigation.
