Two members of an anti-terrorist special unit were killed and three others wounded during the search for the kidnapped Tomislav Salopek, reports the Patria News Agency.
The accident occurred in the city of Arish, on the Sinai Peninsula, when their vehicle hit a mine most likely planted by Islamic State members.
The Egyptian Ministry of Interior confirmed the deaths of Captain and Assistant Chief Commander of Special Forces Mohammed Amin Ismail Abyssinianate and young police officer Ahmed Mehanna. However, they say this unfortunate event will not prevent them from continuing the search operation with the same intensity, reports Večernji list.
