(Patria) - 28 healthcare workers have been killed in Lebanon in the last 24 hours, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says that many (other) healthcare workers are not reporting for duty and have fled the areas where they work due to bombings.
According to him, this seriously limits the continuity of healthcare services.
- WHO will not be able to deliver a large planned shipment of medical supplies to Lebanon tomorrow due to flight restrictions - Ghebreyesus added.
Concern over a possible outbreak of a wider conflict in the Middle East has led international airlines to suspend flights to the region or avoid passing through its airspace.
