Rescuers from GSS HBŽ and special police found 10 hikers from Bihać around midnight on the BiH side of the Dinara mountain, who had gotten lost in the fog below the highest peak, Troglav, writes Patria.
The search began around 8 PM when the duty phone of GSS BiH received a call from the head of the Split station, Frano Bebić. After that, a three-way conference call was established, which also included the Croatian center 112, which had received a call for help from a group of hikers from Bihać who had gotten lost.
The call was forwarded to GSS HBŽ, to chief Marin Vidović, who contacted the group of 10 hikers and instructed them to take shelter in a nearby old, abandoned facility and wait for the rescue group from Sinj, who were heading towards them, as they were located on the Croatian side of Dinara.
The phone connection was poor, the signal unstable, but the hikers managed to send their GPS location, which made it easier for the rescuers to find them.
