Rank lists for Director of DKPT and Deputy Director of BiH Border Police to be known on Monday

(Patria) - Two sessions of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held on Monday, May 22. The first session, starting at 10 AM, will include interviews with the registered candidates for two vacant positions: Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies and Deputy Director of the BiH Border Police.

On the same day, a new session of the Independent Board will be held to determine the rank lists of candidates, which will be forwarded to the Minister of Security of BiH, Nenad Nešić.

We remind you that the new Council of Ministers of BiH in February appointed all Serb and Croat candidates from the previous rank list, while ordering a repeat of the competition for two Bosniak positions.

Ten candidates applied for these two positions, while two more candidates applied only for the position of Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH. Among others, Enes Karić and Mustafa Selmanović are competing, and the 'biggest battle' will be between them for the position of DKPT Director. Karić is a long-time employee of SIPA, and Selmanović is from the Federal Police Administration.

However, as Patria previously reported, the current Deputy Director of DKPT, Đuro Knežević, fears the arrival of Enes Karić, and lobbying has already begun to avoid Karić. Besides Knežević, the other deputy in DKPT is Goran Amidžić. DKPT is still headed by Mirsad Vilić, who will retire after the new director is appointed.

The selection of the Deputy Director of the BiH Border Police will also be interesting. Fahrudin Halač and Amra Aljić have again applied for this position.

In addition, the distribution of positions in security agencies is as follows: Darko Ćulum heads SIPA, his term began in 2020, the deputy is Zoran Galić, the Director of the BiH Border Police is Mirko Kuprešaković, while the two deputies in DKPT are Đuro Knežević and Goran Amidžić.
