160 tons of Ukrainian grain destroyed in Poland

(Patria) - Around 160 tons of Ukrainian grain were destroyed yesterday at a railway station in Poland amid large protests, RSE reports.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov described the move as an act of "impunity and irresponsibility".

Polish farmers, who protested this month against what they claim is unfair competition from Ukraine and EU environmental regulations, blocked border crossings with Ukraine and spilled Ukrainian products from railway wagons.

EU agriculture ministers are scheduled to meet in Brussels today to discuss proposals aimed at changing some of the regulations that farmers oppose.
