(Patria) - At least 32 people have been killed in the last 48 hours in the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for more than 15 months, the Hamas Ministry of Health announced today.
The death toll has thus risen to 46,537, according to the statement, which also adds that 109,571 people have been injured since the beginning of the war.
The ministry specified that the toll includes 499 deaths in the last few months, noting that it does not have complete data.
A study published yesterday in the British medical journal The Lancet estimates that the number of deaths in the Gaza Strip in the first nine months of the war is about 40 percent higher than the data from Palestinian health authorities.
Israel questions the credibility of the Hamas Ministry of Health data, but the UN considers it reliable.
The study published in The Lancet does not take into account the missing. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced that nearly 10,000 residents of the Gaza Strip who are considered missing are likely buried under the rubble.
