The Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality has issued an approval to the Sarajevo Canton Construction Institute for the removal of a residential building for the purpose of constructing a road that will connect the V transverse road with Safeta Hadžića Street, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
The Sarajevo Canton Construction Institute, which is the investor of the project, needs to remove the residential building and construct a section of the road about 90 meters long to the junction with Safeta Hadžića Street, which will relieve traffic congestion in this part of the Sarajevo municipality.
Due to unresolved property-legal relations, it was not possible to start the implementation of this project, although the idea has existed since 2004.
Traffic on the newly built road will be regulated by traffic lights, and in this way, congestion towards Grbavica will be reduced, and traffic will be redirected towards Otoka and the Bosnia and Herzegovina-Malaysia Friendship Bridge.
