Paris hosts meeting on European security today

(Patria) - French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated yesterday that the country's President Emmanuel Macron will hold a meeting of European leaders in Paris today.

CBS News received confirmation from Macron's office that the French President will hold an informal meeting this afternoon on the topic of Ukraine and European security.

According to the statement, the meeting will be attended by the leaders of Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, and Denmark, as well as the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission, and the Secretary General of NATO.

Macron's office also stated that additional discussions in other formats on peace and security in Europe could follow in the future.
