
(Patria) - All seven people on board a military helicopter that crashed in Qatar's territorial waters were killed after a technical malfunction during a routine task, Qatari and Turkish authorities announced.
The Qatari Ministry of Defense had previously announced that the crash was due to a "technical malfunction" during a routine mission, while the Ministry of Interior stated in the first report that six people were killed and one was still being searched for.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed that all seven people on board the helicopter were killed.
According to Ankara, the victims include one Turkish soldier and two employees of the Turkish defense company Aselsan, while the remaining four victims are members of the Qatari armed forces.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that the exact cause of the accident will be determined by an investigation conducted by the Qatari authorities.
There are no indications at this time that the helicopter crash was the result of hostile action.
