Twelve Algerian soldiers were killed on Sunday in the crash of their helicopter, the Algerian Ministry of Defence announced, reports the Patria news agency.
In the helicopter crash in the Adrar province in southwestern Algeria, two more soldiers were injured. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
Ennahar TV reported that the most likely cause of the accident was poor visibility in the region, which has been hit by strong sandstorms in recent days.
