IN ONLINE FORMAT Film by Pjer Žalica opens the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival tonight

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The 26th Sarajevo Film Festival will open tonight on the online platform ondemand.sff.ba with the film "Focus, Grandma" by Pjer Žalica.

Before the film begins, the audience worldwide will be greeted from Sarajevo by the Director of the Sarajevo Film Festival, Mirsad Purivatra.

The host of the opening ceremony of this year's edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival, which is held online, will be Bosnian-Herzegovinian actress Belma Salkunić, who played the lead role in Ognjen Sviličić's new film, "The Voice". The audience has the opportunity to watch it in this year's "In Focus" program.

Due to the epidemiological situation in Sarajevo Canton, the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival will be held entirely in an online format.

Viewers from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region will be able to watch the film programs of the Sarajevo Film Festival on the online platform ondemand.sff.ba. Through this platform, viewers will also have access to accompanying programs, such as lectures and talks with authors.

49 films will compete for the Heart of Sarajevo awards in the Competition programs of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival.

In four competition selections – feature film, documentary film, short film, and student film, as many as 29 films will have their world premiere, six international, two European, 11 regional, and one Bosnian-Herzegovinian premiere.

Elma Tataragić, selector of the Competition Program – Feature Film, included eight films in the program, of which four will have their world premiere, one European, and three regional premieres.

Rada Šešić, selector of the Competition Program – Documentary Film, selected 16 films. Eight will have their world premiere in Sarajevo, two international, one European, four regional, and one BiH premiere.

In the Competition Program – Short Film, according to the decision of selector Elma Tataragić, there will be ten films this year – seven will have their world premiere, one international, and two regional premieres.

Asja Krsmanović, selector of the Competition Program – Student Film, included 15 films in the program, of which ten will have their world premiere, three international, and two regional premieres.

The program includes films and authors from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and Turkey.
