First Bosnian PEZ® Figurines Presented at Collector's Exhibition

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The first Bosnian PEZ® figurines were presented today at Sarajevo City Center. These figurines are intended for fans of football clubs Željezničar and Sarajevo. PEZ® is one of the most famous confectionery brands from Austria, EU. In the past, all production intended for former Yugoslav countries originated from Slovenia. After searching for the perfect distributor in 2008, PEZ® established cooperation with the company Spanish Market, with whom they are celebrating their tenth anniversary of successful business today.

“PEZ® and Spanish Market began their cooperation back in 2008, which has continued uninterrupted for 10 full years. PEZ®, as a confectionery brand for everyone, is available in all supermarkets, hypermarkets, shops, gas stations, and kiosks across BiH. In the BiH market, consumers purchase an average of 200,000 figurines and about 4 million candies annually,” stated Claudia Muhr, Director of International Sales, PEZ® International GmbH.

Besides the PEZ® brand, Spanish Market imports and distributes several well-known global brands, and also has its own production facility for Quickie croissants and Mas Palitos snacks.

Regarding PEZ®, we are very happy to have successfully positioned this brand in the market to the level that this company holds in European and global countries. As the culmination of our ten-year cooperation, today we officially launch the first and official Bosnian PEZ® figurines,” said Alma Tahirović, PEZ® Brand Manager for Spanish Market LLC.

The decision to make these the first PEZ® figurines for the BiH market was based on the fact that both young and old love PEZ®, just as is the case with these two best Bosnian clubs.

“We are pleased to have established cooperation with a brand like PEZ®. Guided by our slogan 'From childhood for all time,' we wanted to create something that would delight children, as well as those a bit older,” said Anela Potura, Marketing Director of FK Sarajevo.

Emir Dobrača, Marketing Manager of FK Željezničar, also expressed his satisfaction, stating: “I am very glad that our club has become part of the big PEZ® family, and what is most pleasing is the fact that the youngest fans of our club will have a new favorite figurine with blue colors on it.”

Given the cooperation between Spanish Market and PEZ®, to the mutual satisfaction of all, visitors to Sarajevo City Center will be able to visit the most interesting exhibition of the year today, an exhibition of PEZ® figurine collectors and PEZ® products in general. The largest and oldest collectors will be presented there.

“A total of five collectors will be presented at this exhibition, including the largest Bosnian collector, as well as some of the most valuable figurines in our country. The exhibition will be open today until 8 PM,” added Tahirović.

“The oldest figurine in my collection is Pluto patent 2.6 with the country code 'V' - (Yugoslavia) produced during the 1960s. As the rarest, I would highlight the 1970 Mickey Mouse variant (patent 3.4, Yugoslavia, country code '5') with a dark face. Today, I will present a part of my collection at SCC,” stated Prof. Suvad Lelo, the largest collector from BiH.
