(Patria) - Nearly 200 children have been killed across the Middle East since Saturday, following the first US and Israeli attacks on Iran, UNICEF announced.
According to their data, at least 181 children were killed in Iran, seven in Lebanon, three in Israel, and one in Kuwait.
- Children do not start wars, but they pay an unacceptably high price for them. The military escalation across the Middle East has already had a devastating impact on children - UNICEF stated.
During the first day of American and Israeli attacks on Iran, a girls' school in Minab in southern Iran was hit, killing at least 175 female students, according to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Funeral prayers held for children killed in the US-Israeli attack on a primary school in Iran
The attack occurred on Saturday after the US and Israel announced joint strikes on Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the US and Israel of killing the female students.
- These are the graves being dug for more than 160 innocent girls killed in the US-Israeli bombing of a primary school. Their bodies were torn apart - Araghchi wrote on social media platform X, along with a picture of freshly dug graves.
The Israeli military claims it is unaware of any Israeli or American attacks in the area, while the US announced an investigation, claiming they only target military objectives.
