Exhibition in Mostar on the anniversary of Džemal Bijedić's death

MOSTAR, (Patria)- On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Džemal Bijedić's death, the Museum of Herzegovina is organizing an exhibition today at the Džemal Bijedić Memorial House titled "Remembering Džemal Bijedić 1977-2020", authored by Indira Gaštan Bešo.

The exhibition includes a part of the documentary material from the Džemal Bijedić museum collection, which consists of a hemerotheca, telegrams, expressions of condolence, reports, and books of condolences signed by high-ranking statesmen, prime ministers, party leaders, and prominent political and public figures from both the former Yugoslavia and around the world.

Speakers at the exhibition will include historical curators from the Museum of Herzegovina Mostar, exhibition author Indira Gaštan Bešo, and Edin Mulović, reports BHT.

The exhibition will be open from 1 PM.

Džemal Bijedić was a prominent Yugoslav and Bosnian-Herzegovinian politician who died in a plane crash on January 18, 1977. It was rumored that he could be one of Josip Broz Tito's successors at the head of the SFRY.

He was a personal friend of Tito and the Prime Minister of the former state. One of the two public universities in Mostar bears his name.
