Putin and Dodik to meet in Moscow

The President of the BiH entity Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow today, and according to Dodik's cabinet, they will also discuss the referendum in RS, writes the Patria News Agency. 

There are no indications that Putin might ask Dodik to abandon the unconstitutional referendum in the Republika Srpska entity.

- Of course, I will inform President Putin, the president of the country that chairs the Peace Implementation Council in BiH, a country that played an undeniable role in stopping the war in the Balkans and made a great contribution to peace, about the situation in BiH and in that regard about the development of the political situation as we see it in Republika Srpska and in the region - Dodik said, writes N1.

Answering the question whether Putin could ask for the postponement of the referendum on the Day of Republika Srpska, Dodik emphasized for "Sputnik" that he does not expect that and that the referendum is something that cannot be stopped.

- There will be discussions about the referendum in terms of necessary explanations, that it is a reaction, not an action, and that it is not about secession, but about the will of the people - Dodik told reporters yesterday and reiterated that there will be no backing down from the referendum.

- Especially not because of the deflated, false figures from the war option of generals who committed war crimes and are now threatening again. The referendum happened in the meantime, the meeting was arranged in July when I was in St. Petersburg. The referendum is something that is a reaction to the action of Bakir Izetbegović, who has shown and proven that the Constitutional Court of BiH is under his patronage and only executes his decisions - states Dodik.

Dodik previously explained that both sides have prepared topics for the meeting, and the basis of the talks will be strengthening the economy, because he wants to further encourage Russian partners to invest in Republika Srpska in order to increase the number of jobs.
